About Us

The Birkby family has been in the building trade for around 90 years.
Birkby Construction Ltd was formed about 12 years ago when branching out into the commercial sector with the construction of industrial, warehouse and office units.
We offer a full design and build service which means the client has a one-stop contractor, once planning permission is achieved. This means that all structural, planning compliances and architectural works are carried out in house and the project handed over complete ready for occupation (including hard and soft landscaping). This has many benefits, as the building in question can be purpose-designed for all clients. Our design team is highly skilled at reaching the correct design needed.
We can also offer a build only service working along side the clients design team. If required we would be pleased to apply our input from knowledge we have gained on previous and current projects.
We have our own joinery workshop, producing all our own purpose-made joinery.
Contracts vary from £5,000, to a maximum of £5m, servicing both the commercial and domestic sectors.
Birkby also have a maintenance department, mainly in the commercial sector, servicing companies like LaFarge, Teesland plc, Turkey Mill Investments and numerous industrial estates.
Birkby Construction Ltd is an ISO9001 registered company that gives quality control assurances. We also carry our own professional indemnity insurance allowing for all necessary collateral warranties.
Should a development be a combination of commercial and domestic we are able to offer NHBC services enabling the client the choice of letting or selling.
